Craig from Vacaville, California, United StatesInteresting light going on here! Not sure if those are webs or not. 14 Mar 2008 9:30am @Craig: Thank, Craig. And, yes, they are webs! The morning sun was hitting them just right to make them visible. MJ from Delaware, United StatesI remember that morning.... great shot for all the mosquitos......oh thats right they were only following me!!!!. I love the golden colors 14 Mar 2008 12:24pm @MJ: Well, since I "LOVE" spiders so much, you could have pushed me into that field! You have the mosquitoes, I'll have the spiders!!!! :-) But, it was a pretty morning!!!! Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesIf it isn't webs, then you'd better call in the X-Files, b/c the space aliens are definitely here. 14 Mar 2008 1:24pm @Viewfinder: Never though of the X-Files! My only thought was that as much as I dislike spiders, I was sure glad our path didn't go through that field!!!! Chris from South Jersey, United StatesBeautiful capture - the light on the dew is perfect. Very nicely taken.... 14 Mar 2008 1:36pm @Chris: Thanks, Chris! Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesNeat... are you gonna tell us how you did this? 14 Mar 2008 2:44pm @Earnest: Hi Earnest, this is an actual, unretouched, photo of a field full of spider webs! It was early in the morning at the Chincoteague, Virginia Wildlife Refuge. A friend and I were walking the trail, this field was right off a lookout and the sun was hitting the webs so that they were very visible. Since I really hate spiders, I just had to get a shot! Rhys from Darlington, United KingdomSo many webs, what a find! Did you get any clos-ups? 14 Mar 2008 3:35pm @Rhys: No, Rhys. From the lookout you couldn't really get close enough to them - and I really didn't want to! Too many spiders for my taste! Too far to zoom in and hand hold. Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaThat is amazing. Don't you love it when you find something at just the right moment? Moments earlier or later and it would all be different. 14 Mar 2008 4:12pm @Michael Rawluk: Yes, I do love it. And if the light wasn't just "right" - we never would have seen the webs! Tracey from Baltimore, United StatesThat is incredible! Beautiful colors...are you sure it isn't a spider farm?? :0p 14 Mar 2008 6:20pm @Tracey: There's a thought, a spider farm. Well, it was definitely a spider dining room! It would have been interesting to see an actual spider! standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceThese webs reflecting in the sun are just amazings. Well seen! 14 Mar 2008 9:24pm @standley: Thank you! Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesVery nice capture. I have seen these orb webs glinting in the morning sun on a summer day. You did a great job. 15 Mar 2008 6:12pm @Anita: Thanks, Anita. Have you seen the spiders to go with them? @Shaahin: Thank you very much. Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesI have. There are several spiders that make these orb webs. One has yellow on its body. I don't know anything about spiders, though. 16 Mar 2008 11:37am @Anita: The only thing I know about spiders, is that I really don't like them and I give them plenty of room!! Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesI failed to add this: look for them in your flower garden or in meadows this summer. 16 Mar 2008 11:38am @Anita: We found this one that had a web from our house to a bush http://countrysideofjersey.aminus3.com/image/2007-12-22.html They usually appear in the fall. |
