These apples survived the entire winter in my neighbor's tree. They still hang there with the new apple blossoms coming out!

Very interesting! Here in our region apple farmers have stated to produce ice-cider from apples harvested when they are frozen to -10º C, and it is quite a hit not only here but also in Europe and Japan, a little like ice-wine.

@Tracey: I never saw apples stay all winter like that before, either. Usually the ground is covered and the deer have them gone before Thanksgiving!
