@rem_la: Just a little too bright, but I thought I'd post it anyway. @Lorraine: Thank you, Lorraine. Thanks, Chris! @Craig: Thanks, Chris. Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesI'll call it a little wild flower because she is so pretty. Thanks, Judy. @MJ: Thanks, MJ! @Cheryl: Thank you. @Alun Lambert: Thank you, Alun. Tracey from White Hall, United StatesSo delicate in appearance, but I am sure if it is a weed it is quite hearty! Great shot. 14 Jun 2008 2:33pm @Tracey: It's that beautiful even though we just went through that heat wave, and it was in the sun all day! Thanks, Tracey. paulski from Muncie, IN, United Statesand a beautiful weed it is. nicely captured... 14 Jun 2008 4:17pm @paulski: Thank you. We were both photographing the flowers, then my daughter - who was far ahead of us on our walk - called for us to catch up because we weren't on a "picture taking walk"... but, of course, Sammi and I were! :-) Observing from Chester, United KingdomIt may be a weed, but this is a delightful photo..! 14 Jun 2008 7:22pm @Observing: Thanks you! Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesHi, Betty. This is probably pinstemon digitalus.. one of about 1000 varieties of this plant: http://plants.usda.gov/java/imageGallery?category=sciname&txtparm=Penstemon&familycategory=all&growthhabit=all&duration=all&origin=all&wetland=all&imagetype=all&artist=all©right=all&location=all&stateSelect=all&cite=all&viewsort=25&sort=sciname Penstemon near my home is very similar (if not the same) and I'll have a photo coming up. It grows deep in the forest under the canopy or near streams. Good catch. 14 Jun 2008 8:18pm @Earnest: Thank you for looking it up for me, Earnest! This one was just across the street on the side of the road! Never noticed a flower like this before! Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaWeeds are only weeds when they are not wanted. I think that is a gorgeous plant and shot. 14 Jun 2008 8:55pm @Michael Rawluk: Flowering "weeds" can be just beautiful! I guess I should say wildflower! :-) Thank you, Michael. @shahab: Thank you, Shahab. @vu@granby - Wolfgang: Thank you, Wolfgang. Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesI find that walking with my camera leads me to see flowers I never noticed before. 16 Jun 2008 10:24am |
