House Wren 4 - Diving InPosted by Betty (Phillipsburg, United States) on 30 June 2008 in Animal & Insect. This house wren set up housekeeping in my clothesline pole. How it fits in that pipe is a mystery to me! But it works all day bringing back all kinds of insects, spiders and worms!

@Masoud Nahali: Thank you, Masoud. Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesIf I hadn't seen the previous images in this series - and if denied your narrative - this would be a very odd photo to decipher. Great fun, Betty. 30 Jun 2008 7:42am @Stephen Phillips: It would be like... guess the bird! :-) Thank you, Stephen. @Craig: Thanks, Craig! Thanks, Chris! Sammi from New Jersey, United StatesLike Brandi said... Shake your tail feather... :P 30 Jun 2008 1:52pm @Cheryl: Thanks, Cheryl! Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomGood shot, I wonder what the next installment will be 30 Jun 2008 2:20pm @Peter Miller: Thanks, Peter... have to wait until tomorrow! :-) @Helma: Thank you, Helma. Observing from Local, United KingdomHead first.... it's amazing how it's built a nest there. 30 Jun 2008 4:10pm @Observing: Just think, how did it start the nest without the pieces falling to the bottom of the pole? Maybe the pole is full of twigs and such up to the level of the nest? I would love to see inside the pole. @Hamid.R: Thank you. Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomAn interesting view, in that it captures the action well, I can almost hear those chicks crying out for food. 30 Jun 2008 4:21pm @Richard_Irwin: When you stand on my deck you can hear the chicks. When you stand next to the pole, it sounds like they are just about head level. Tracey from New Port Richey Florida, United Stateslove these pictures they are crisp clear and very well done. 30 Jun 2008 4:44pm @Tracey: Thank you, Tracey. @Earnest: Thank you, Earnest. @Evelyne Dubos: Thank you, Evelyne. |
