These flowers and the next few photos were taken during a walk at Merrill Creek Reservoir. I'm not really good at identifying wildflowers, but enjoy photographing them!

This is unusual, Betty. Most floral images we see have our primary interest in sharp focus - and the depth-of field has focus dropping off in front of and behind with some graduation. Close leaves are still recognizable - the background becomes a blur.
Here - your have an image layering - with all of the foreground sharp and nothing until we get well below to a field of uniform softness - it is an unusual effect and I really like it. It certainly worked well here.

This is great Betty, apart from it being a delightful flower to look at, your focal length and choice of aperture has given this image a 3D effect which really stands out. Super!

Queen Anne's Lace...I think.

I agree with all the comments. Great dof and sharpness. How far away were you from the flower? I would ID the flower as Yarrow.

Super shot. A fantastic bouquet on the hoof. It even comes with its own fly. The soft green background really makes it pop.

Very well done Betty! I like your focus too!

I like Stephen's comment about the "image layering". I'm guessing this wildflower was quite small, so in order for you to get the macro, it threw everything else out of focus.

Merrill Creek Reservoir must be a beautiful place to visit. This is a wonderful capture of this little plant and the DOF is exceptional.

I still need to get up there again. I was up at Crater lake last week. I should have meandered over to Merrill Creek.
These are sweet little flowers. Very pretty.
