the thrill of victory!! But the cow doesn't look so happy! Great fun shot....

@Chris: It was hot and humid that evening, the animals were hot and tired. A few of them kept laying down. I don't know if I felt more for the animals or the exhibitors... or me! Too hot.
It brings back memories, Betty. Somewhere I have four quarters that I saved from showing my first heifer at our local county fair... Third place prize money over forty-five years ago! (I have the white ribbon too.)

@Earnest: Our third places get $12! And a yellow ribbon.
A totally unknown experience to this city boy, but thanks for letting us have a privileged peek into the goings-on of county fairs. Very nicely presented.
This is a great photo, of something I've never experienced. It always seems to hot to attend fairs with hot and not-too-aromatic animals. :D

@Judy: It was very humid and warm that evening... I was drenched! The animals are sparkling, but what they leave behind isn't. The man handing out the ribbon (my supervisor) also manned the shovel, but my shoes still got a little aromatic, too! :-)
